About the GPA Directors and Associates
GPA was formed as a partnership between Robert Gillett (formerly Manager of the FAO South Pacific Regional Fishery Support Programme) and Garry Preston (previously Manager of the South Pacific Commission’s Coastal Fisheries Programme).
The founding partners have a combined experience of about 60 years in Pacific Island fisheries development. Both have personally planned and implemented a wide range of marine resource development activities, as well as managing major national and regional fishery development programmes and their associated teams of specialists.
The founding partners are complemented by associates selected on the basis of experience, ability and performance. Currently, these individuals are Mike A. McCoy (based in Kona, Hawaii), Peter Cusack, Hugh Walton and Ursula Kaly.
